With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant business, Kate Edwards has held every front of house position from manager and maitre d' to server and bartender, managing restaurants as busy as Balthazar and as refined as Per Se. She launched Kate Edwards Consulting in April of 2007 so that she could share her passion for the hospitality business and the people in it. Her unique philosophy stems from defining good service as the embodiment of every choice you make, and that everything delivered to your guests makes a meaningful, lasting impact.
Kate's vast knowledge of food, wine, etiquette and successful management has grown tremendously over the years. Here is a look at her more recent accomplishments.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys volunteering for God's Love We Deliver. In addition to delivering food for the organization, she participates in their Race to Deliver. It should come as little surprise then that Kate is an avid runner. She has raced in several marathons (three in 366 days, in fact!). Among those cheering her on is her husband, a coach with the New York Road Runners Club. They met running, and lucky for Kate...he's also an exceptional chef at a renowned New York Hotel.
